Post-election update
With the Australian Labor Party gaining office in the recent election Oz Kiwi is hopeful that the reforms we have advocated for over the last ten years can finally be achieved.
Oz Kiwi have contacted both Australian Labor and the Australian Greens and will continue discussions for a fair pathway to citizenship for Kiwis in Australia. Our advocacy work began in 2013 and we have had strong working relationships with Labor and Greens since our first trip to Canberra in 2015.
The new Government is going to be busy in the coming months. They will focus on their goals for the first 100 days in office. Implementing the reforms we need will require a lot of work. It won't happen overnight.
Later in the year Oz Kiwi will travel to Canberra. In the meantime, we will be contacting the new Members and Senators including the Teal independents to seek their support.
We will keep you updated on our progress.
